1 cup diced onions
2 1/2 lbs ground beef
6 slices American cheese, diced
4 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
Elijah's Xtreme Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce
6 hamburger buns, split and lightly toasted
Dill pickle slices
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Directions
Place a small pan over medium heat and add 1 Tbsp of oil. When hot, add onions and season with salt and pepper. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook the onions for about 15 minutes. Remove from heat.
Divide the meat into 12 loose balls, then form into ¼ inch thick patties. Place the onions, cheese, Elijah’s Xtreme Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce and bacon into a bowl and mix together. Center 2-3 Tbsp of the filling mixture into the center of the patty, leaving ½ nch border of meat. Top with another patty. Crimp the edges of the 2 patties together, sealing the filling mix inside. Repeat with the remaining filling and meat. Season the outside with salt and pepper.
Brush a large skillet or griddle with 1 Tbsp oil and heat to medium-high heat. Add patties to the skillet and cook for 6-7 minutes. Flip and poke the middle of each patty with a toothpick to release steam; cook for 6-7 more minutes.
Place burger on toasted bun with pickle slices, more Elijah’s Xtreme Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce and any other desired toppings. Serve and enjoy!
