This is not your normal mac n cheese. Sweet and spicy crab with lots of cheese, and a crispy crumb topping. You'll want to make your mac n cheese this way everytime!
Crab Mac n Cheese Recipe | Elijah's Xtreme
4 slices bacon
1/2 cup chopped onion
3 Tbsp butter
1/3 cup all purpose flour
4 cups milk
1 tsp cajun seasoning
3 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
1 cup parmesan cheese
Salt to taste
1 box medium pasta shells
2 5oz cans chicken of the sea crab
Elijah's Xtreme Original Roasted Pepper Hot Sauce
2 Tbsp melted butter
1/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
Cook bacon in a large pan. Remove, crumble and set aside.
Add butter to grease in pan and cook onion until soft. Add flour to pan and stir for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk. Bring to a simmer, remove from heat.
Stir in cajun seasoning. Set aside ½ cup cheddar cheese and stir remaining cheddar and all of the parmesan in until melted.
Drain crab, mix in Elijah’s Xtreme Original Roasted Pepper Hot Sauce. Then stir into cheese mix. Place cooked pasta in a casserole dish. Pour cheese sauce on top and mix.
Sprinkle ½ cup cheddar cheese on top, then add the bacon.
In a small bowl, stir panko crumbs and melted butter. Sprinkle on top mac and cheese.
Bake at 350F for 15 minutes. Then broil for 2-3 minutes to brown breadcrumbs (watch closely so it doesn’t burn).
